A TASTE OF "THIS"
The Story – or Stories – can’t truly be understood without seeing the full picture of all the parts that make them up. The people involved, the timing of the events, the moments when things change — or are chosen to change — the place, or the reason that drives transformation.
Our story, or at least our purpose today, is shaped by something as simple and profound as family. And by a purpose as straightforward as preserving a legacy, while gently adapting it to today’s world and circumstances.
The finca has its own history, and those of us who work here have our own hopes and motivations. But the ultimate goal is to ensure that everyone who visits, stays, or celebrates here feels a small part of it as their own. Because even though these moments may seem fleeting, we believe they have the power to bring meaning to everyday life — and to live on as cherished memories.
Then now that you’ve made it this far, let us give you a brief overview of the when, where, why, how and who behind our project.
When
“To remain faithful to our roots” is more than just a phrase — it is a guiding principle, a mantra that fuels inspiration, dedication, and the courage to pursue a dream awakening within us.
In 2021, the idea arose to restore an old family finca, over 50 years old, with the aim of turning it into rural accommodation. Not long after, this initial idea grew into a bigger project, also offering the possibility to host events — providing a service that, at that time, did not exist in the nearby towns around the finca.

Where
We once took for granted that being close to nature was the norm. Over time — or with age — we’ve come to realise it’s a hidden privilege within our daily routine, something we hadn’t truly valued. But how could it not be precious to be surrounded by fresh air, far from noise and pollution that dims the stars?
What we had here was something to cherish. More than just to cherish, it was something to make the most of. Here, we could reconnect with life; here, we could disconnect from everything else. Or at least, escape for a while from the pressures of daily work.

Why
Why not? This project was born from a deep desire to reclaim something that had always been there, patiently waiting for its moment. Taking such a bold step was an act of courage — but also one of faith and hope.
There’s always a bit of fear, as with anything that takes you out of your comfort zone. But we try not to see it as an obstacle, rather as a challenge. It commands our respect, and that’s what drives us to improve, to pay attention to every detail, to prepare thoroughly, to focus, and to give our very best.
Restoring this place has meant more than just fixing furniture or pathways — it’s a commitment to finding meaningful work through authenticity. Beyond giving purpose to a piece of land, we also seek to fulfil our own lives through a mission that inspires us.
If we succeed in passing on even a fragment of that magic to those who visit, then every ounce of effort will have found its true meaning.

How
With all the ups and downs that life is made of, but we’ve stuck together like glue.
Life has its ups and downs, but through it all, we’ve remained united as one. This journey has only been possible thanks to the help of many professionals — architects, painters, plumbers, builders, electricians — but above all, our family. Each person has offered their hands when needed, their support in some moments and their disagreements in others, ideas, and the financial backing we required. To all of them, we will be forever grateful.
However, the very essence of our project — its arjé — and the reason we are here today, stems from those who are no longer with us. They were the ones who left us the first stones with which to begin building this path.
The finca and Casa Las Flores are a reflection of something fundamental: very few things are achieved alone. We move forward thanks to the help of those who walk beside us and those who watch over us from above. Every contribution, no matter how small, is vital in making this dream a reality.
In this place that witnessed many of our first steps, we place all our hope and desire to keep growing.

Who
The whole team before, and sometimes just the two of us. Although we try to manage everything. We’re "LAS PUTAS PRIMAS", as we sometimes jokingly call ourselves. Because we are cousins, and because our role model and inspiration is “LA PUTA SUEGRA.” After all, it makes sense to follow in the footsteps of the elders if you know they’re doing it right.
And maybe we get a bit carried away trying to be like them, but the thing is...
— we are absolutely in love with El Espilo and Casa Las Flores, or the CORTIJO, as we still call it and have always known it. You can’t imagine to what extent. Because if you did, you’d know that nowhere on this page have we ever exaggerated a single feeling. It’s hard... having to set up or clean, but the peace that comes from a job well done, the nerves imagining how much people will love this place when they see it for the first time, and the satisfaction of seeing it again in person or after an event; the incredible sunsets the sky gifts us so often... there’s really nothing quite like them.
And it’s those little things that drive us to try and fly high...

As Aristotle said, “Family is the first school of virtue.” The first mirror in which we see our reflection, the place where our first roots grow. Every step we take and every challenge we face is marked by the support of those who have taught us that the meaning of life lies in sharing, in helping others, and in growing together. That is why, because of you, and because of you too, we do all of this…
